Clinical Observation of the Cerebrovascular Accidents

Abstract
Four hundreds and eleven cases of the cerebrovascular accidents were studied clinically ,at the Chonnam University Hospital during the period of four years and eight months, from January, 1967 August, 1971.
1. The incidence of the cerebrovascular accidents 11 cases) among the total medical inpatients(5, 3) was 7.91% and the ratio of male to female is 1.6 : 1.
2. Among the 411 cases of the cerebrovascular accidents, the cerebral hemorrhage cases were 237 (5.2%), the cerebral thrombosis 69(16.8%), the cerebral embolism 12(2.9%), and the subarachnoid hemorrhage 93(22.6%).
3. The cerebral hemorrhage showed the peak incidence of age in their fifties, the cerebral thermosis in their sixties, the cerebral embolism in their thirties, and the subarachnoid hemorrhage in their thirties.
4.. In the spring, the cerebral hemorrhage, the cerebral embolism and the subarachnoid hemorrhage showed the peak incidence but the cerebral thermosis in the summer.
5. The mortality rate of the cerebral hemorrhage 237 cases was 26.6%, the cerebral thrombosis in cases 13.0%, the cerebral embolism in 12 cases 3%, and the subarachnoid hemorrhage in 93 es 26.0%, respectively.
6. The ominous factors influencing the prognosis over leukocytosis over 15, 000/mm3, high cerebronal pressure over 300 mm/water, and high diastolic blood pressure over 140 mmHg.
7. The incidence of the cerebrovascular accidents along the total medical inpatients has increased by year.
